Star Trek Uniform
The Star Trek uniform has to be one of the most recognizable costumes around. There are some great costumes to choose from for this Halloween or any fancy dress event from Star Trek: The Original Series, The Next Generation and the most recent 2009 movie, Star Trek about the early years.
So if you want to be a member of Starfleet then take a look at these fantastic costumes. The ones shown below are all adult costumes, but just click on any picture and you’ll find there are child versions of most of these great Star Trek uniforms.
If you fancy saying “Beam me up Scotty” and want to be the Captain of your own Starfleet, then try one of the Captain James T Kirk uniforms. From the original Star Trek television series Captain Kirk is seen wearing a long sleeved gold colored tunic with black pants with the Command insignia on the front. This Star Trek Classic Gold Shirt Deluxe Adult Costume shown on the left is just like the original. This long sleeved shirt features the Starfleet emblem and three gold bands on the cuffs.
You may prefer to “live long and prosper” as First Officer Spock, the half-human, half-vulcan
played famously by Leonard Nimoy. He has quite unique characteristics such as upswept eyebrows, slanted eyes, yellowish complexion, Vulcan hairstyle and large pointed ears. It features a long sleeved blue shirt with the Star fleet emblem and two gold bands on the cuffs. Just add the classic Spock ears and wig and you a ready to get logical.
For those who prefer The Next Generation and Patrick Stewart’s portrayal of Captain Jean-Luc Picard, then the Star Trek Next Generation Red shirt Deluxe Adult Costume shown on the left is for you. This is the uniform from the third to seventh series and was worn by commanding officers only. It includes a black and red shirt with fine detailing and a Starfleet insignia pin. Just add black pants to complete the look.
The latest Star Trek movie, Star Trek (2009), stars actor Chris Pine as the young Captain Kirk. The famous gold tunic first worn in the original series has made a come back in this up-to-date version, but is slightly different. The Star Trek Movie (2009) Gold Shirt Deluxe
Adult Costume of Captain Kirk shown on the right includes the gold top, but this time it has the Starfleet emblem printed all over, three silver bands on the cuffs, attacked black dickie and embroidered Starfleet emblem on the front. Again, add your own black pants to finish the look as well as the phaser gun, a hand held energy weapon used by Starfleet personnel.
In the original series, the commanding officers wore gold tops, whilst the scientists and doctors wore blue and other crew members wore red. However, in Star Trek: The Next Generation the commanding officers wore red and the others gold. The color of the uniforms for the 2009 film remains true to the original television series.
